Final Fantasy Spin-Offs… Sorry for the quick updates, but I’ve been swamped with work. I haven’t had time for anything else.
Enjoy!
I don’t care what you think… this is what I think.

Apparently all the YouTube videos of the Simpsons that I posted have violated some copyright issue… sorry ![]()
I’ve only heard of these games, they don’t look as good as the previous FF games
Issue 1:
Sox lost 2 to the Yankees this weekend in such a promising weekend
Issue 2:
Bioshock still does not work on my PC despite having all the necessary hardware. It is really frustrating
Issue 3:
iPod Touch. While it is one sweet piece of technology, I can’t fathom dropping $400 on 16GB of an inferior iPhone technology without the phone capabilities. While it would be sweet to watch videos on, I can’t even see myself watching videos often. However, the music features are wonderful with Cover Flow and great visualizations… it is just a very difficult decision. I should probably just use the $400 for the Xbox 360 with Halo3. It would be a great game play as well as some of the other games.
Issue 4:
The loss of my Saturdays. Class starts this Saturday from 9am to noon and that leaves me with 1 free weekend day to rest and relax… if you can even call it that…
Sorry this is a day late but I’m going to give a quick re-cap of what has happened today at Apple’s Townhall meeting. Thanks to Gizmodo; and Ars Technica.
Note: Gizmodo has a great write up here. I’m going to give my opinions below.

What’s New?
·New color: Red
·1Gb for ~$80
What’s Bad?
·Just a new color? Considering the prices of flash memory (I have a 16GB flash drive, yes, they do have one small enough here), and the sizes of it, I would have expected at least a 2GB Shuffle. But only a color change? NEXT!
Nano
What’s New?
·Video
-screen 320×240 or a 2″ screen
·Battery life (24hrs music or 5hrs video)
·Full metal design
·Brighter display
·Cover flow (shuffling through songs/albums using coverart as a guide)
·8GB and 16GB for ~$150 and $200 respectively (what a great price!)
·Red Nano (again for charity)
·Games
What’s Bad?
·Shorter but fatter… I liked the original size of the Nano, slim, thin and not too wide. This new one is considerably wider, but there does need to be room for video…
iPod Classic
What’s New?
·New Name
·Full metal design
-thinner
·80GB and 160GB! for ~$250 and $350
-40hrs music and 7hrs video battery life
What’s Bad?
·We’ll get to that at the end…
iPod Touch
What’s New?
·Think iPhone without a phone
·WiFi (802.11b/g compliant)
·Safari *shudders*
·YouTube interface
·Google/Yahoo search interface
·Facebook interface
·Battery life of 22hrs music or 5hrs video
·Profile thinner than iPhone
What’s Bad?
·Storage
-8GB and 16GB for ~$300 and $400 respectively which is a meager size storage for a slightly hefty price.
·iPhone is now on 8GB and is priced at $400 instead of $600 which was the debuted price a couple of months ago.
·YouTube, Google/Yahoo, Facebook interfaces?
The Verdict
As nice as the iTouch is with the 16GB of storage, I am very torn in getting one versus and 2G (2nd generation) iPhone. With the current price of the iPhone compared to the 16GB iTouch, I’m tempted to wait out the 7 months I have left with Verizon and switch to AT&T. But then again, I don’t want to use my phone, my primary source of contact, as my media player, draining the battery considerably. Maybe I will get the iTouch… but 16GB? I think Apple would have been better off making the iTouch with a hard drive instead of going flash. BAH! Moving on to the Classic, I love the increase in storage, the longer battery life, the slim profile. Good job. Same goes for the Nano, making a portable video player more affordable to everyone. As a result, Apple’s stocks were even yesterday and pre-market today (8:35am EST), stocks are down… Someone isn’t too happy…
Final Fantasy XI, the game that got me started on MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online (Role Playing Games)). I stopped once World of Warcraft came out because of FFXI’s arduous task of grinding. Grinding wasn’t easy and most of the times, could not be done solo unlike WoW where everything can be done solo… Still a great game…
With the Yankees hosting the Mariners right now (4:04pm EST) with the score of 7-1 in favor of Seattle, the race for the wild card hasn’t been this tight in years. Yes, the Yankees play the Red Sox 3 more times, but with the loss tonight, that pushes them 6.5 games behind 1st. Sweeping the Sox will only bring them at least 3.5 games behind 1st. I for one, will be watching the scores every day until playoff season!
GO SOX!
