Creationism. Intelligent Design. Faith-based this. Trust-your-gut that. There’s never been a better time to espouse, profit from, and believe in utter, unadulterated crap. And the crap is rising so high, it’s getting dangerous.
digg story
A very well written article just under 2 years ago, describes what is still a pressing issue that suppresses our creative and innovative thinking. This issue of creationism, and intelligent design (ID) vs. evolution has created a rift not only in this country, but in the classes of America. Now, I am nowhere near the upper class and reside in the ever dissolving middle class, but Idiot America illustrates the problems people have when they integrate religion with politics and education. Things that are meant to be kept separate (separation of church and state). Ever since Bush’s reign, he has nearly eliminated this separation, which not only makes it harder to state the truth, but distorts it so much, that fact are no longer valid. Give this article a very good read in detail. It is a very long article, but it does deserve the attention and press it should as America is slowly spiraling down the toilet.
… that using a black background would save energy. In fact, I think it may be the opposite. Treehugger and AskPablo have both done studies indicating that a black background would only save energy on CRT monitors and could potentially use more energy on LCDs…
While I am in no mood to change the color of the site for the extra 1watt, I do find it 10 times easier to read than a white background and black text.

Talk about funny! If you can remember “King-sized Homer” (Simpsons season 7 episode 7) where Homer is on a quest to be put on disability for being overweight, then you would think this remote is hysterical. As seen from Gizmodo, this remote is huge with giant buttons so you wont sure to miss or “miss-mash” the buttons. But why call it the FFS remote™? Well, my friend Dave and I had this discussion while still in our undergrad days, typing so fast, we ended up misspelling many many words, blaming it on Fat Finger Syndrome™. Now this is in no means making fun of overweight/obese people, but merely a spin-off from the aforementioned Simpsons episode (fast forward to 1:50):
Now in the light of the Simpsons, this is funny, because it has happened to everybody, including myself. Who hasn’t typed so fast, their fingers just mash all the keys? Regardless, this post is meant for humor. If you have any problems, you should have noticed the disclaimer before reading.
I don’t normally write about sports, but after this off-season’s multiple wide receivers (WR) esp. Randy Moss, I am interested in watching how this pre-season games pan out. Now, these games mean nothing at all, but at least it will try and give some flavor of how well these great WR will do this season. Let alone on how Brady will pan out with a new child on the way and his supermodel girlfriend. This will be an interesting season nevertheless, but as long as they beat the Colts, I’ll be happy.
Off to the golf course!
